Yep some times we get things right! http://www.wright-house.com/wright-brothers/wrights/1903.html Yes, even though it is done by building upon the work of others... Like Otto lilienthal and John Montgomery . I was thinking about the issues of fuel getting too cold and freezing up, and of shielding ...

I painted it to hide the contours of the welds. If you click on the pictures you can get a hi-res version and see the welds more accurately. I know the paint will vaporise the first time I fire it up, but the welds looked so bad I painted it (waste of time & paint, but I had to). I welded the lid on...

Can you put the tank on the front of the kart? I just grabbed 3 large coffee cans from the breakroom at work... this gives me about 2-1/2 square feet of sheet metal that is free, and relfects heat better than aluminum. I have to make a heat shield and motor mounts for my Elektra II tonight, and sinc...

http://www.pbase.com/mark_42/image/79286628/original.jpg To me it looks like the condenser is in the wrong place, and should be where the resister and capacitor are... which would make them unnecessary. But it supposedly works, so i drew it per the picture. I'm just going to use a cattle fence char...

Re: relay spark O matic

What is the Resister and cap tied to 87a for? ...You can place a small cap accross of the contacts to extend life from Arc. But Relay should last long enough. From the drawing in the original thread, which I used to draw the schematic, it was suggested in order to prolong the life of the relay cont...

Re: Buzz O Matic

I tried to find a schematic. Old Hat! I will try to do it in Paint... I did one this morning... http://www.pbase.com/mark_42/image/79286628/original.jpg Does anyone know what size capacitor I could use in place of the automobile condenser? Not sure I still have one around... maybe in an old lawnmow...

I think I get it.
The relay holds until the capacitor is charged and then it lets go
and the capacitor discharges through the coil?

I'll have to draw the whole schematic some time and see if it all makes sense to me.

Maybe I'll just rub two sticks together.

I do like the relay buzzer... but don't see by looking at it why it would oscillate.

Now THAT is funny. Reminds me of Silver Surfer http://www.pbase.com/mark_42/image/79231814/original.jpg Actually, I'm planning to put the Elektra II I'm building on a skateboard with a portable propane bottle. At 1.25 lbs thrust it's just for show, but should be fun. I used to have an aluminium skat...
