re: PDE engine video

A quick and easy way to free hydrogen gas for experimentation is to make up a solution of sodium hydroxide (red devil lye) and water, and add aluminum foil, do this in a bottle and put a big balloon on the neck...

re: How to Watch July 4 Comet Impact

Yeah, good binoculars will probably be best, easier to find the comet in the FOV anyhow. It is amazing how well binoculars work for looking out into the night sky, if you can get far away from the city lights anyhow. That'll be no problem here, It's by golly dark around here at night. On nights with...

re: How to build a pulsejet engine without a spinning machin

Just a regular microwave. It's just that i've seen a few with little crappy transformers in them, combined with a doubler circuit, you'll know if you got a good one because it'll be about 6"X4"X5"h and be mostly a block of iron with 2 separate windings on it. to discharge the capacitor, BE VERY CARE...

Naw man, not a jerk at all!! I was only kidding, you have done nothing but stated your opinion, which you definately should do! I never once thought of you as a jerk, only someone older and wiser than myself. And I definately greatly appreciate your answers to my questions, you and the other fellows...

re: How to Watch July 4 Comet Impact

I read something about this months ago, I can't believe it's really true. I just don't think we are ready to go screwing around with crap like this, they are gonna knock this thing off its normal orbit, and if murphy's law applies to outer space the thing is gonna drill the earth on its next time ar...

re: How to build a pulsejet engine without a spinning machin

A great, cheap, and easy to find transformer for a spot welder (or any other high current applications) is one from a large microwave oven, find a junk one someone is throwing away. I've scrapped out at least 30 microwaves and I've never had one with a bad transformer, so its almost a sure thing. Yo...

Re: re: Proposed Design: 'Mushroom' Wave Engine

I think what El-Kablooey has proposed -- a separate starting device blowing mixture directly into the chamber -- would be better. Holy crap! Did Bruno actually agree with ME on something?? ;) JK I think that means that I must be learning a thing or two from reading all of you guy's posts! I promise...

re: Proposed Design: 'Mushroom' Wave Engine

cone substitution on my 'lil lockwood??? maybe?????

Hey guys, got another question for ya. I've been working on a lockwood.. anyway, the exhaust pipe (starting from where it ties into the intake's exhaust cone) calls for a 7.5" long 2"id pipe into a 4"radius 2"id u-bend into a cone 28.5" long expanding from 2" to 3.5" at the exit. I've got this built...

Re: Cone layout

PS Your user id reminds me of an ancient cartoon character, Quick Draw McGraw, where he played a character once, named El Kabong, with a side kick named Baba Louie. Combining names we get, ... LOL... You figured me out.. Being the father of 7 year old boy, cartoon network is about the only channel ...

Cone layout

Hey guys, I am in the process of (slowly) constructing a Lockwood. I have finished the CC and both of the cones, but have run into a slight problem. I was hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction. Is there another way to layout conical sections onto sheetmetal? The only way I know is to...
