re: Compressed air/Ramjet = Cramjet

I've now managed to construct a engine/combustor out of a pipe of about 5 cm in diameter and 30 cm in lenght. I've squashed the pipe in one end to seal it and ther's 2 holes for compressed air and butane as fuel. As the flameholder I simply used a round steel plate with alot of small holes in. I hav...

Compressed air/Ramjet = Cramjet

I've been trying to find a way to build a small, semi-efficent ramjet so that it can work on a rocket. But the problem is to get pressure to the ramjet, a motorjet/thermojet was my first thought but soon realised they're too bulky and not very efficent. Then I figured, what if you put a pressurized-...

Compressed air/fuel rocket?

Can you use compressed air as the oxidant in a rocket? And maybe a liquid or gaseous fuel, for example; Gasoline or butane? Butane may be the way to go beacuse of simplicity but it don't as much energy as gasoline but using already pressurized butane takes out the need of pumps and such. If you are ...

Re: Valveless for R/C Flying?

So an design with valves would be the way to go? Like the "Atom Jet"?

Re: Valveless for R/C Flying?

But aren't they very big? Can you scale them down?

Valveless for R/C Flying?

Is there any valveless design that would work on a R/C Plane? I have trouble finding valvematerial, thats why I want to use a valveless design.

Maybe if you could scale down the Chinese or the shortlady. What do you think? And also, it should be prefered if it worked with liquid fuel..

Rocket/Ramjet?

Would u be able to make a rocket that speeds up to about 250kph an the uses a ramjet to power it?

Do you think that the pump that drives the flushing of car windows i good enough to use for a fuel injection nozzle?

I might just try and build a Tharrat pulse.... Just for the hell of it. But the main concern then is, how do I atomize gasoline enough for it to work?Alot of experimenting is up I guess. Do you think I can use a fuel pump and a fuel injection?

Can u scale down a L-H to about 9" in lenght? Would metanol be easier to atomize and get a selfsustaining jet? If the L-H isn't a good engine in that size then whet design would work well in that kind of size?

Would a fd35 Schreckling engine designed according to the plans be powerful enough to thrust a person on a bicycle. I'm gonna borrow the Kurt Schreckling book from the public library tomorrow and would appreciate help, if the fd35 isn't powerful enough, what design should I use then?

What would happen if you placed the intake at the bottom off the combustion chamber? Would it perhaps increase thrust since the fresh air is sucked back in more freely? But on the other hand when the intake is where it is on the plans then it contributes to some compression of the gasses. Here's a p...

ignition system

Thanks very much!

The capacitor is used for continiuos sparking right? And if you were to have switch to break the current instead there would be only one spark right?

And one more thing, does anybody know how much the chinese valveless based on the plans put out in thrust?
