Re: Annual JET FEST proposal
I found it interesting to compare the running of two motors of similar thrust but differing approaches to thrust production. Mikes motor (27 N/L) and My motor (22-23N/L) have about the same effective CC dia and produce about 5Lbs thrust. You know these motors so I will not repeat the fine points her...

Re: Annual JET FEST proposal
It's a lovely site, well in the sun at least. When not running Jet motors it's a firing range.
Ah Nick, did I leave my ear protection with you?
Yes, the fresh eggs were lovely, big thanks.

Re: petal valves in dead end ?
Hi.
The first question must be: Do I want or need to admit extra air?
At speed you may need to reduce the flow through the valve!

Re: Trouble with new pulsejet design
Hi. I have to go along with Mike. Without testing the model I'd say 'The Exhaust looks very short'. Try making it about 2 to 3 times as long as you have it now. and The induction pipes look a little too small, I mean the induction dia. This is an odd one because you can get motors running with very ...

Hi.
How have you created a negative frequency?

Re: Mike's Build Log
Dear Mike. What a lovely little motor (>5Lbs) Well done! Ref the lower thrust value. It is a possible that the motor is producing negative thrust (Positive thrust but in the other direction) at your lowest fuel settings, it's easy enough to check. What impresses me is the resonate combustion at thes...

Re: "Thunderchine" 55 lb thrust pulsejet plans
Hi Grim. Ok, apologies for being a little negative. I notice you've addresses the issues of Rolling resistance in your design. Bicycle type tires, light weight but strong construction. Thin with small contact area and high pressure. Have you given thought to isolating the motor vibration from the fr...

Re: "Thunderchine" 55 lb thrust pulsejet plans
Well Done! Good design and a great build. Grim, M. and Rossco. What a team!! Hmm, I'm not so sure about the cart design. I've been close to a running Lockwood and can only imagine this motor is no more comfortable to be near. It was one of Rossco's fellow countrymen (Gary)that likened it to "Wanting...

Re: Messerschmitt design?
The Full size -06 and -07 motors, at the top of this page, have the material thickness marked on the drawing.
The 100mm dia CC Type06 would probably be ok if built from anything between 0.5mm and 1mm depending upon skill level.

Re: FWE with increased Throttle Range?
Hi Larry and Joe. Detached flow, related to conical half angle and the operating conditions, appears to be a limiting factor to design. 5 degrees + or - 1 degree is about as much as you can do. At first sight, this consideration seems to be more important in the tailpipe than the CC back cones. Look...

That's great! It feels good when you get your first motor running.
Now that learning curve is out of the way the world of pulse jets is yours for the taking!!!
Good work, congratulations and I hope the neighbours like it?
