Re: Hello all!
Hi Joey, welcome to the forum! I assume you got the pulsejet plans off eBay. A seller in TN has been offering plans for a 20 lb "Thurst" Pulse Jet for some time now. (The Thurst typo cracks me up). Anyway, maybe you could fill us in on what you received, and how the plans look. Kind of a mini review...

Re: Success at Last!
No question, you lost a reed. Sometimes they quit instantly, sometimes the tone will change and it will continue like that for a bit, but not for long. That's your advance warning to get in position for landing. This built in potential for failure is what makes R/C pulsejet flying interesting!

Jerry, that's good news about Curtis-Dyna and the book. Did you happen to ask them if they are currently selling the Red-Head?

re: newbie having problems starting a Dyna-jet
A few other "too obvious" questions come to mind... - Is this a stock DJ? Sometimes guys get hold of jets that have been modified/souped up by C/L speed flyers and they can be far more temperamental than stock. - Does it have a standard #4 metering jet? The number should be stamped into the side of ...

Eric, I could give it a go. Would use on BMS Sport Jet, bladder fuel tank (pressurized), R/C plane. You've got my email. When you say adjustable, does that mean a needle valve is involved?

Okay, I'll play... I've heard yours Larry and it's great! My favorite is an older radio public service announcement by the two crash test dummies. They are in a museum, and the first crash test dummy says, "Hey, look at this vase. It's baroque." Second crash test dummy replies, "Why, did you ba-reak...

re: Help, I CAN'T get her started
Hey Dang, You've asked several times if the loud explosions are "normal". YES! Running white gas, that thing is going to be LOUD! If you have never heard a Dyna-Jet up close and if your only experience with pulsejets is through vid clips on the net, then it wouldn't surprise me if you're shocked by ...

Re: Where can I buy a Model T coil
Thank you all very much for your ideas. Being electronically lame, I'm going to opt for the Model T coil. It's the most expensive, but it's simple and works. The Bang Box from the previous poster looks interesting. I've been toying with the idea of in-flight starts, and this might be a relatively co...
