Welcome! Please let me know what links no longer work. The site was just updated last month for that very reason and they should all be working now.

What sorts of things are the hollow bearing balls used for or what do you use them for? They sound like something nice to have for special projects.

Re: youtube

Maybe put a AA battery in a rocker, shorted with a high value resistor, so it heats until it dies? Or there are chem based hand warmers that might work. Sounds like it needs very little differential temp. Do you have an infrared thermometer to get a feel for the differential right before it stops wo...

Re: Odds and ends

The continuous rotation, is that all you? The rockers were one thing, but this is amazing. I feel like it is convective action, but works in a vacuum, no?

Re: Odds and ends

I feel like it would also work with a straight cylinder that is imbalanced so it rocks on a flat plate. If my thoughts on thermal bow are correct... Seems you would want high thermal conductivity at the contact, and low emissivity of the rocker so it does not lose too much to the environment, and hi...

Yeah, so much being done with this idea these days. I've been following it since we discussed it here somewhere years ago, and now it is real. Super cool!
