Definitely looks like someone trimmed off the fins of a red head. I think we have plans here on the main site to resurrect the fueling and valve.

Welcome! Please let me know what links no longer work. The site was just updated last month for that very reason and they should all be working now.

I don’t know what they might be used for, but McMaster had them and i bought some just because. I think you can relate!

Maybe put a AA battery in a rocker, shorted with a high value resistor, so it heats until it dies? Or there are chem based hand warmers that might work. Literally two days ago I did this setup with a bimetallic strip from a thermostat. I did not have the dial to know how much it moves with temperature, so I had to measure it.

The continuous rotation, is that all you? The rockers were one thing, but this is amazing. I feel like it is convective action, but works in a vacuum, no?

I feel like it would also work with a straight cylinder that is imbalanced so it rocks on a flat plate. If my thoughts on thermal bow are correct... Seems you would want high thermal conductivity at the contact, and low emissivity of the rocker so it does not lose too much to the environment, and hi...
