Liking all this! So, what I liked about the Harbor Freight burner (I've had one for years) is it's a cheap way to get a nice high flow needle valve with all the hookup stuff to the tank. Though I mostly use just the tank valve which takes a fine touch when starting a small linear like this with com...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Remember the little high voltage modules aren't meant to run continuously. You could shorten the gap distance and use the lowest power to run them which would help. I was just toying with one and if you put the wires closer together it will turn on with a 1.5 volt flashlight battery. But anyway they...

Re: Glow plug can start pulsejet?

1968 I had a small hobby pulse jet engine smaller than the Dyna Jet Engine it used a model airplane glow plug to get it started. It had a place on the nose of the engine to connect a model airplane fuel line to a model airplane fuel tank. The engine ran on model airplane fuel. The engine came with ...

Kind of a Logan look to it. Not wild about breathing smoke though, but interesting for a home-built and for the fact that it looks like a "working" pulsejet rather than recreational. Re: Odds and ends

That Norwegian thesis had some fun facts to ponder over. Funny that substituting one relatively inert gas for the other can make such a difference as when they switched the nitrogen to helium for example and that hydrogen doesn't produce as much pressure piling as a slower fuel. I noticed on this ca...

Re: Odds and ends

Out of curiosity, these hollow brass candle holders that were going to be throw out were spritzed with methanol and lit at the narrow end via a threaded hole that held the "wax catcher" cup part on. The threaded hole accepted or matched well enough a typical spark plug thread and aside from that the...
