Re: BB life in TT turbine
ok, thanks for the answer. I will try and see how it goes.
nope, haven't read them. Will have to do it.
I still have to solve the lubrication problem, cos the bearings needed a bit of "help" to come out, so other misterious parts (and pieces) came out of from the turbo, hehe,

BB life in TT turbine
hi everyone. I've started builiding a TT turbine to waste some time, but the (hydrodynamic) bearings of it are useless. So i removed them and will be changing em with STANDARD 6 mm ID, 13 mm OD ball bearings. in the skf webpage it says "reference speed: 110000". but it sounds too optimistic to me. i...

yep, just having some fun. :) today i closed the big holes and it started burning in the right place and i think it even increased the speed (it started to sound as if the revs were higher) unfortunately my cheap bearings didn't like the lack of lubricating system and high temp. so i took a new one ...

funny! i was working on something similar this week, and i tried it this morining. in my vac cleaner the compressor was also used to cool the engine, so i had to make a NGV and the turbine out of sheet metal (like fd3) the result is really crappy, so i doubt it'll work. anyway, when i lit it this mo...

re: Sorta crappy attempt at sugar/kno3 rocket, few questions
despite i've only made a few rockets, i think the possible problem is that, since the mix was not melted or had a binder, when you lit it the grain lost its shape, blocked the nozzle and bang! replacing the sugar with a bit of glucose (1/4) is helpful while melting and moulding, you get a lighter (a...

re: turbocharger compressors
there's a simple method using duct tape detailed in the plans someone upload of the kj66 sometime ago, but as John pointed out, it has to be mounted in the shaft.

re: problem with Roscco stinger
i tried again this morning with the other tank and still no luck, I increased then decreased the gap and still nothing, I'm getting tired of this, I'll switch to other project for a week to regain some enthusiasm and then get back to this one.
