Beginer Advice
What are the basics involved in designing a turbo jet engine. Not one of the KJ-66 style ones but the one the homemade ones like this http://www.nyethermodynamics.com/nt3/index.html What I don't understand is how you get the combustion camber size, volume, and holes in the flame holder. Thanks for t...

Air speed
Anyone have any ideas about the speed air moving thru the intake of a pulse jet. Is it related to the flame speed? Which would be what? Any ideas would be great.

Ben, thats a good point, $2 vs. $25 per gallon. I really was just wondering if R/C car fuel could be used. Thanks for yall's two cents.

Re: Fuel
Okay then, what about pure nitromethane? I can get it for about $25.00 per gallon.

Fuel
Would it be possible to run a pulsejet on R/C car fuel? I think that it is a light oil mixed with nitromethane (top fuel) and is availbe in mixtures from 0% nitromethane to 60% nitromethane.

Re: Reynst build
My friend and I biuld a cart around a KT-100 pushing about 22 HP and geared it for 60, that SOB turned about 15,000 RPM. The look on people's faces was great when they would see a cart come flying from behind them at a stop light. Good times, until he flipped it goin' about 35 MPH and cracked the bl...

Re: Reynst build
Find a racing go-kart shop and ask for the carb to a Yamaha KT-100, its got like a 20-35 mm bore, flows real good.

Re: Trebuchet
I made one of those bad boys for a school project. Mine was 8 feet tall and hade about 300 pounds of concrete for my weight, my self and 4 guys had to load it into my truck and then move it into the football field. I was trying to lob a watermelon across our football field, but ended up lobbing thro...

Re: What not to do!
Okay, if y'all want to trade electricity stories, here's one. When I was about 12, I got my first laser, it was a HeNe tube laser. Well, I quickly found out that ifI held the outputs near each other, it would spark. Not knowing that the power supply's copper foil outside was gound and not knowing th...

What not to do!
Yesterday, before I went to school, I tried to fire up my jam jar for the first time. I was using denatured alcohol, which didn't seem to work very well, it would whistle and the puff two or three times. Then, it lit without realizing it was going weakly, i blew into it to give it some fresh air and...
