I was planning on strapping an array of 4-5 medium sized jets on my jonboat, and I have the lathe and not the welder, so that's why the idea came to me. I guess it's not really any advantage, just an option for folks who want to try some more complex parabolic flares and such.

The benefits of a rotary valve would be to reduce valve wear as seen in other designs, no? Why not use the only one-way valve with no moving parts? Tesla's valvular conduit?
