Re: Hobby king Pulse-jet (modifcations)

Welcome to the forum. You would be better to post in the Valved Pulse-Jet forum as that is what your Hobby King jet is. Probably not much in the way of modifications that will make it better for RC flying - thrust augmentors will give more static thrust, but at speed will also increase the overall d...

Re: No Moving Parts, 1-Way Valve

This has been explored before, as detailed under Essential Reading in the Valveless section of this forum. It is about 1/3 of the way through the document. "Few people will be surprised to hear that the amazingly prolific and spectacularly inventive researcher of things electrical, Nikola Tesla, als...

Re: Questions about CFD analysis and What is Uflow1D?

Here is another post which goes over what to look for when using UFlow1D and how to tune an engine using this software which I found quite useful :D : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4215

Re: Questions about CFD analysis and What is Uflow1D?

I am fairly new here. I mostly use NUDiS which can be found at http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?t=3588. Read the whole post before trying to use it and make sure you download both versions. Some of the last posts are the most informative. It works great for me (with a few bugs now and ...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Is there anywhere that I can get plans for the ThermalPulse 180 engines? I looked up everything I could on them - seems that Eric is now at pulsejetengines.com, but there doesn't seem to be any way to contact him anywhere. :( I have found a plan for the straight 12lb engine, but that is it. It is ju...

Re: Bending an M40

Hi Ryan, Don't make any bends in the exhaust! it isn't going to like that! If you want to augment the engine "easily", try building it with 1 intake (same length, twice the volume (so not twice the diameter) and then use an M500 style ejector (it blends with the exhaust somewhat) Thanks again, With...

Re: Bending an M40

Thanks Metiz, That is exactly why I floated the idea here before just rushing into it like I normally do. It is just that I had noticed the picture of a lockwood with quite a few bends on the Valveless page of this website (attached), where Bruno says that "pulsejets do not appear to be greatl...

Bending an M40

Hello, I am contemplating building an M40 powered go kart (possibly 2 engines on it :D ), and have been thinking over the possibility of augmenting the intakes to get a little extra thrust (I am estimating I would get an extra 10lb at least, if I do everything right :D - or is that overstating it a ...

Jet Speed and Acceleration Calculator

Hello, I am new here and to pulse jets in general. I have made a small pulse jet which will not sustain, but I will get to that issue in another post. :D However, in my searching of the web for any indication of how fast a vehicle of any sort would go when powered by a jet, I could find nothing but ...
