Re: PyroJoes Recipe for Beginners

Yes your location shows up as Stuttgart

I cannot help you there my friend; I still do not remember the formula for cone volume alone; let alone a cone with a sliced top.

I'm from the US; Boston, Massachusetts whereabouts to be specific.

I can't help but notice you're from the parts where one of my favorite, and arguably some of the best cars of all time are made :D

Re: PyroJoes Recipe for Beginners

RC Man, I have never so much as seen a pulse jet in person; I have however spent numerous hours researching all I can find on both valved and valveless of all designs.

While a simple venturi would imaginably increase velocity, I'm thinking that the baffle may create some cool toroidal vortices.

Re: PyroJoes Recipe for Beginners

This is an incredible guide! With just the desired intake diameter I was able to in five minutes calculate all other values without having to half-assedly scale a random design. I have a question that may seem odd as it is counterintuitive. The intake diameter I require is 2"; dividing by 0.88 for a...

Re: Scaled Lockwood Build

Also, the 50mm primary intake diameter is of some importance to me; which is why I scaled the design I found with originally 100mm intake.

Re: Scaled Lockwood Build

[metiz], Thanks for your reply and nice to make your acquaintance; I have looked through your impressive current M500 build with a fascinated regard for your work. About the M2O, I don't have a great answer for that; I guess I've never been quite as fond of the 'focused wave style' or 'forced anti-n...

Scaled Lockwood Build

Hi all, I'm still fairly new to the forums yet a long time pulsejet enthusiast, and attempting my first build. I pretty much scaled a Lockwood Hiller Design I found online in half and made the intake 100mm longer. Does this look like it would operate as designed?

Re: Cyclonic Vacuum Jet

Very cool, thank you for the illustration.

It becomes pretty apparent that the tangential port(s) would almost certainly be a preferred exhaust path, and the axial exhaust would probably rather be an inlet as well.

Re: Cyclonic Vacuum Jet

Hi [PyroJoe], Thank you for taking the time to look at this and for commenting! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQQZkGFKTtU <This is a good practical view of air/dust flow through one of these. The flow is similar without the helical baffle this one has; though it does appear to diffuse the flow nice...

Cyclonic Vacuum Jet

Hi all, This is an idea I've been mentally toying with for quite some time; spawned from my experimenting with cyclonic separators with air/water for my job. For those who are not familiar with 'cyclonic separators', or 'cyclonic dust separators' as they are sometimes referred to: http://www.simeric...
