Re: lockwood hiller valveless pulsejet starting problem
Nice job on your motor Mike. :D I don't know enough about injectors, to comment on your injector hole size. I'm sure someone here on the forum can help you though. I just made mine to a plan posted on this forum. Before I fitted the finished injector into the jet, I played around with it lit, out in...

Re: lockwood hiller valveless pulsejet starting problem
Your gas tank should be big enough. I have 12 x 1mm holes round my nozzle to diffuse the gas and it sits right in the middle of the first tapered cone before the combustion chamber. Your engine is not far off running, but it gets frustrating when they don't go. A link to mine. http://www.pulse-jets....

Re: lockwood hiller valveless pulsejet starting problem
Yes I agree. More gas. As a rough idea, mine likes to have a 2 mtr high flame coming out the exhaust, before shocking it with a leaf blower to start combustion. Mine won't run with continual air being blown into it. Just a wave past the intake with the leaf blower to get it to fire and it's away. Ch...

Re: Chinese valvless won't start
Maybe too much fuel, bit too rich.
Wondering if you back the fuel off slightly, while it's running with the added air, then slowly remove the air nozzle.
Got to love these little engines. The frequency they run at, is just music!!!!

AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very well done. They attract a crowd where ever you run them.
That is indeed just above an idle.
You would not be still smiling and sitting by it without hearing protection at full power.

Re: Lockwood Pulse Jet won't sustain
Awwww you are nearly there!!!! :D :D :D If you have to continually hold the air in it to run/start it means that you have too much gas flow. As soon as it starts and you pull the air away, it will quit as it's mixture is too rich. On mine if you can hear the injector hissing gas before the ignition,...

Re: Lockwood Pulse Jet won't sustain
Hi I'm not at home just at the moment. Looking at the video it seems to be over fuelled (too much gas) to start. :?: I let the lit orange gas, plume out the exhaust for a couple of seconds and then shock the intake with the leaf blower. You are so very close, I can't believe it hasn't continued to r...
