Re: PyroJoes Recipe for Beginners

Ok so does the exhausting gas through the tail move at a higher velocity than the exhausting gas through the intake as in ganuganus animation?

I thought this one by Eric Beck was very good!

Re: PyroJoes Recipe for Beginners

Ganuganu, is this idea that the velocity of the exhaust gas is faster than the intake gas true? Also your animation explains no aerodynamic "valving" as PyroJoe was pointing out. Thankyou PyroJoe it is very easy to understand, I was thinking of using a concept to create a vortex to increase valving ...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

This is what I had in mind for the CC, I got excited early (weeks ago) and drilled a TLAR 2.5" (60mm) hole in it for the exhaust before considering the requirements, hense my queries. I havn't drilled or decided upon intake(s), as this was an experimental ie: not intended for any practical use I was...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Yes that is a neat one. I wonder how it compares to other shapes, the thread doesn't expand on performance, I like how the tail flairs from the start. I had seen the small one on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QD7U0ogXWM How did you come up with the figures for the 5 Liter CC? Any insight i...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Can you please help me understand the relationships between various parts some more? Researching your recipe again PyroJoe and not knocking it just trying to understand the basics here, you say in your opening post there are variations used to achieve different engine objectives (like differing boat...

Thankyou PyroJoe, A quick google search shows the basic Helmholtz resonators to be spherical in shape. http://physics.kenyon.edu/EarlyApparatus/Acoustics/Helmholtz/Grinnell15a.JPG Helmholtz Resonators. Where these 2 peice sliding cylindrical resonators are used to aid tuning to find a frequency http...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Hi I am new here, Thank you to the many informative members. I have Some questions: Is there any recipe for starting build from a known combustor volume, regardless of shape? Thrust to Size: Are larger engines exponentially more powerfull than smaller engines? Blended bodies ie... multiple intakes a...
