Re: Conic Valved Pulsejet

Thanks Jerry, I've seen the pictures of the early Marquardt p-jet with folded/collapsed tail pipes from their whirl teststand in 1947. They developed rather short p-jets to try to deal with the centrifugal stress on the jet pipe. When Marquardt ended the gov't rotor tests their engineer, Corwin Denn...

Re: Conic Valved Pulsejet

Thanks Jerry, The USAF Museum in Dayton is a really great resource. I visited it many times as a youngster growing up in Ohio. My late grandad Harshman grew up in that area and watched the Wright brothers test their kites and gliders. I have seen the recent pictures of the AHC XH-26 "Jet Jeep" at th...

Re: Conic Valved Pulsejet

Somewhat like that Kriz Pulso-3 but a very simple cone from the valve area to the exhaust port. That type would allow a one-piece sheet metal (cone developement) to be rolled into a conic shape and seam welded (one seam only). I like the electrical resistance seam welding process vs MIG or TIG weldi...

Re: Kriz Pulso 3

Hello Vilkas, Attached below hopefully is a picture of the US Naval Research Laboratory Tech Pamplet 4536 extract Survey of Static Performance of Pulsejet Engines. These are all valved pulsejets reported by Gary Burgner ca. 1968. Note the great variation of proportions for these jets. All except the...

Conic Valved Pulsejet

Has anyone here experimented with or worked on a conic shaped valved pulsejet ??? This type I believe has a simple cone-shaped jet tube like that of the American Helicopter Co "Jet Jeep" from years ago. A search of the archives here turned up zilch. Attached hopefully is a picture from an article ab...

Re: Kriz Pulso 3

A bit late to the party here but I think this 6 inch pulse-jet is a knock-off from the 1951 GE 6 inch ramjet. They both measure 29 inches in length and use the same (approximate) shape. That GE 3R-1 ramjet was reported to resonate at certain fuel levels by the test engineer, a fellow named Igor Bens...

Re: Engine High Speed Test Experement.

Hi Rocketman,
What sort of pulsejet did you use for this rotating test ??? Any fuel pressure regulator ?? Was the tail pipe supported ??? It sounds like the place to start R&D for a small helicopter tip jet.

Thanks,
Gary

Re: SR-71 Pulse Jet Engine test run VIDEO

Hi Rocketman, This is a beautiful valved engine you've built !!!! It has amazing performance from a small diameter package. Would you please post some pictures of your 20 lbs thrust version ??? I think I have seen the video of it attached to the table of a Bridgeport mill. Is that jet an enlarged va...
