As the title says I'm very new to chargers, everything I've bought has been bnf or rtf, and as such came with a stock charger. How can I avoid flying upside down?

I bought two helicopters beyond my abilities (an MCPX and a 450 3D), and I'd like to take each of them for a test flight without crashing on my first attempt. How, please, can I make sure not to fly upside down? I have the DX6i and have used the settings that come with the manual for both helicopters.

Do you buy brand name planes/kits for parts availability or do you go ahead and get the cheaper stuff like Hobbycool but risk not having any replacement parts if a crash happens?
