Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

We are now closing in on the highlight of the year. SpeedWeekend On Ice 2013 in Orsa, Sweden. In the last few days we have made some slight improvements to our vehicle and tomorrow we are making the last start before the race. And if everything works out well tomorrow we just have all the packing an...

Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

Today we did this seasons first testrun. The combustion chamber and the tailpipe are brand new and slightly different compared to the last engine so we had some difficulties starting it at first. But after some small modifications it fired right up and with a little tweaking we measured around 180-2...

Re: M500 build log

HAHAHA! Thats AWESOME! A wise man once told me that "Everything you do, can be done better with a big one". And it looks like we aren´t the only ones who have adopted that philosophy. I really REALLY hope that this thing will run. About the fueling issue: I don´t know much about valveless engines so...

Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

A couple of days ago we had a little demonstration of the engine at Wyatt Earps Riders Motorcycle Club`s annual summerparty. It was very appreciated and we had a laugh watching big, bearded bikers almost shit their pants when it started the first time  Johansson from Mobacken Racing also joine...

Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

Last weekend we went to a vintage tractor-pulling event to watch our friend Olle drive his BM Bison 470 powered by a Rolls Royce Meteor V12-engine and we were asked to bring our engine as entertainment during the events lunchbreak. Here´s the videos: http://youtu.be/agoCpKm-LmI http://youtu.be/nPaRl...

Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

Thanks for the report! I was surprised at how quickly the steering and chassi was upgraded, alot of speed and skill there. It was good of the event officials to understand that this was new and sometimes un forseen stuff happens. Wouldn't have considered that much material failure in the CC, was al...

Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

Yesterday we came home from Orsa Speed Weekend on ice 2012 in Orsa, Sweden. And here is the damage report. As you know we got the engine to start a couple of weeks ago. And when we felt a little more confident that it would start again and again we ripped everything apart and painted the chassis, ad...

Re: Are my calculations right?

The minibike is a really cool project! I saw his name in the entrylist today. Did you visit Speed Weekend last year? Have we met? On your trike, are you going to use skis or wheels? We dont have any valvematerial that big. We use ALOT of smaller ones that we bought, precut to the right dimensions, d...

How can i have missed this thread for so long?
In case you don´t know. I am one of Erik´s two team members.
With next year, do you mean 2012 or 2013? I can´t find your name in the entrylist.
And FYI. In Class 38JET there are no competitors. Just partners in crime ;)

Svarthålet Racing´s Pre Season Pulsejet 2011

As some of you might remember i, LinusN and erik built a BIG Argus-type pulsejet for a Landspeed event last winter under the name Svarthålet Racing (Blackhole Racing in english). http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5955&st=0&sk=t&sd=a We didn´t get it to work properly then and when ...

Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

I´m glad that you liked it. The machining took about 30 hours. Not including the time it took to make the CAD-drawing and the cnc-program. And of course Erik spent alot of time on calculating and designing all the parts. And, Mark. Erik and my brother have been experimenting with anodizing aluminum ...

Re: Planing for next years speed weekend, (1/2 scale Argus)

Hello everybody! My name is Jim and i am one of Erik´s two team-members. My main task in this project was to mill the parts for the valvegrid. And yesterday it was finally finished. The only thing missing now is the actual valves but we will start working on them later this week. http://svarthaletra...
