Re: 100mm Zanin Z26

My last test run of the 100mm Zanin had 16.lbs static then 18lbs with afterburner then 24.5 lbs with No2 gas added. This had a 4 reed valve set up.A two reed set up gets 1lbs extra but less running time.

100mm Zanin Z26

I bought a Zanin Z26 Pipe made 100% of INCONEL From Z-Jet in ITALY.No RC pipe better anywhere in the World.Only thoughts on my mind where what a old set up the head was.Designed to be user friendly well before RC Jet Turbine parts became available I resided I would build the best 100 mm PJ ever.My f...

Re: German ER90 testing

After test running the ER 90 evan more ( I think its time in went on a plane) I can give some good hard facts. The new 3 reed set up in blue spring steel is Perfect. The Germans in WW2 called this Stacking.I got the idea from the RAD Valve company in USA .They used then on 2 stroke Dirt bikes.I built ...

Re: 95 octane vs 98 octane grade gasoline

A good rule is Methanol Nitro mix for Control Line and cheep gasoline & perhaps some diesel for RC .Shellite fuel is our low grade octane in Australia & burns super clean but it like Kero is expensive.Thrust of all these mineral based fuels is much the same if combustion goes off good & that depends...

Re: Pulse Jet Compression

Just turn a Turbine Jet into a PJ .The power &fuel efficiency all get better.Superchargers & N02 gas was tried on PJ engines many years ago .Both work. Noise is a problem & vibration damage another. The combustion chamber must be different to a turbine jet because of the shock waves.Reed valves are s...

Re: German ER90 testing

I finally found the perfect Reed valve set up for the ER90 Pulse Jet.Perfect fuel injector & backing plate.Static Thrust is 16 lbs & the reeds Still look new after 20 minutes of run time. That was 8 L of 20% Diesel & 80% Kerosene fuel mix.Starts fast & easy,Has some throttle use also. https://www.you...

Re: German ER90 testing

After Having got reeds cut again results are perfect now.Three reeds.Big is 10 Thal Blue Spring Steel.Medium is 8 & small is also.Big & Small have holes in them .The 6 was hard to start and may have been no good in flight.I think a two reed set up is worth trying also both in 10 Thal blue Spring Ste...

Re: German ER90 testing

Just lately I put my Control Line Pulse Jets away to look at improving my ER90 PJ.I had got some Blue Spring Steel Reeds Cut by Aqua Jet in Perth .I was told the SS reeds I had in it were Lazer Cut & the Blue Spring Steel would not like that as they are more heat sensitive. The Water cutting worked O...

Re: German ER90 testing

God Dam 50lbs fish scales were 2lbs over reading.I put the 15lbs scales back on I did some more reed valve testing and found a rock solid Lbs of 15lbs at best with no ram are on the new er90 PJ & no afterburner. 13.5lbs was with a 200kph air flow leaf blower aimed at it.100% Kerosene was best on thi...

Re: German ER90 testing

The er 90 is up to 16 lbs static now.Reed valves backing plate & fuel spray the reason. Not tested on a plane yet.Throttles back to 10lbs perfect, starts perfect & the reeds are lasting longer also.Thats like 5.3lbs static for a Hobbyking pj.

Re: Nitous Oxide use

Last run on a er 90 with N02 gave it 23lbs thrust then the second fuel pump I had connected up for the extra fuel snapped its drive pin.It gobbles it up fast.A 2lbs bottle goes in 90 seconds and gives a 40 % boost in thrust.

Re: German ER90 testing

Last ER 90 test I had 16lbs Static Thrust ( Fuel was 60% Kero & 40% shellite.17lbs with afterburner.I have the reed valves breathing better now & better is on the way.Last Nitrous test was on a 14lbs thrust set up topping out at 20 lbs with the nos but it used a 2lbs bottle in 1.5 minutes.

Re: Rotary valves do not work.

I think any idea for Poppet Valves or Rotary valves must have the valve opened or shut by the internal pressure alown. As your PJ gets bigger new design ideas open up more.

Holley Booster Venture on Dyna jets

I took my Bailey Fast jet & made a Booster Venture like Holley Carburetors use & put the head onto a Hobbyking pipe for a test run.I had to remove the main jet and just use the 2.5mm inside fuel line but it ran full power. This was just Methanol. The inside diameter is 30.5mm.I think Booster ventures ...
