Re: Telescoping pulsejet?
It would definitely need to be made out of something other than steel in order to prevent any bending or possible alignment issues. The construction would definitely be tricky to make sure no air escapes. Maybe using some sort of "lock" on each of the segments or a lock bar attaching the first and t...

Telescoping pulsejet?
Hey, I was wondering if anyone has ever made a pulse jet where almost the entire tailpipe telescoped out like those toy lightsabers. I searched the forum, but only found intakes or jam jar telescoping projects. This seems like it could be a real benefit, especially for larger pulsejets(50+ lbs) wher...

Re: Fuel air mixture
Ah. Thanks for the links and information. I was just seeing if there might be a way to simplify the running procedure as well as ensure a good fuel air mixture. Maybe I'll give it a bit more thought based on previous attempts with other types of engines. Thanks again.

Fuel air mixture
Would there be any benefit to making a valved pulsejet with no fuel intake, and instead feeding it a fuel air mixture through the air valves instead. With a compressed solution this could simplify operation and ensure proper atomization of the fuel within the air. The air itself could also be contro...

Tiny Pulsejets
Hello, I'm sure many of you have seen these, but I couldn't find a link to them in the forum. I would guess this youtube channel belongs to someone on the forum: http://www.youtube.com/user/LenapeFireTurtle . Anyway, there's a pen sized pulse jet as well as a handheld lockwood-hiller. A lot of reall...

Re: Broken Links
Okay. Thanks for pointing me there. I posted a request in one the valved thread, but I also wasted a whole lot of time looking at other build logs. I'm glad everyone has taken the time to compile those. I bookmarked at least 2 projects I will definitely attempt at some point in the future.

Re: Looking for plans? Look here.
Hello. I see the plans for the V1, but does anyone have or know where plans for the Argus Schmidt SR500 are? If I remember correctly, wasn't this engine extremely powerful for it's given volume (although it consumed way more fuel)? Anyway, thanks.

Re: Broken Links
Thanks, but I actually meant on the main site pulse-jets.com. As in the link for some of the pulsejet plans are gone and there is no "links" page. Even the link for all the plans http://www.pulse-jets.com/download/allplans.pdf does not exist. Maybe this thread was meant for the forum. I assumed it w...

Broken Links
Hello. There are a few broken links on the site which I was hoping could be fixed. Specifically, a few of the pulse jet plans are not there. Also, ironically the "links" link doesn't work either. I was also curious if the listed "German R500" is the Argus Schmidt SR500 pulsejet or something else. (I...

Re: Project websites
Yeah, a forum is a great place to work through ideas, but I was wondering if you had sites documenting these things. Something that is somewhat ordered.

Project websites
I've looked around and other than Bruce's pulsejet website and this forum, I haven't really found any hobby sites of people building pulse jets. Given all the discussion and designs from members, I was wondering if any of you also had a website where you posted build pictures, tests, ideas, etc. For...

Re: Several questions about design
Thanks for the reply. That cleared up quite a bit, and gives me some direction for more research. I have been searching the forums, but it's hard to find very specific things. I know the design of a valveless is very attractive, but for a specific size, isn't a valved pulse jet more powerful? I also...

Several questions about design
Hello, I'm relatively new to the world of pulse jet building. I've gone over a lot of stuff and read through a couple of books and it seems the more I try to find answers the more questions I have. As mentioned a lot, in general not a lot of new research has been done on standard pulse-jet design. S...
