Re: Mitch's Newbie Valveless jet thread
The diagram above shows the dimentions in terms of D for an intake being at the front, can I use the same dimentions but put the intake at the back of the CC? The lockwood is a linear jet, which is to say that the inlet comes in at one end and the exhaust goes out the other. No matter what you do i...

Re: Mitch's Newbie Valveless jet thread
Im thinking perhaps using wire to suspend the pulsejet, that way its firm, but can handle the vibrations lol Would a copper pipe be ok for the inlet? or would it melt quickly? The diagram above shows the dimentions in terms of D for an intake being at the front, can I use the same dimentions but put...

Re: Mitch's Newbie Valveless jet thread
Ok im sure I can make a rig that holes the pulse jet underwater or something might even be able to ironocally use a jam jar to cool it and perhaps a spacer on the metal lid to stop it floating

Re: Mitch's Newbie Valveless jet thread
Yeah I will make sure its all safe, a pulse jet that doesn't pulse is a pipe bomb, so I will be careful, I will need to re-think my intake idea a bit, but this is just a work in progress, I am trying to use some dimentions from this diagram: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l49/m1tch_2006/planforpu...

Re: Site layout
Could there possibly be a projects section added to the site, it would make it easier to separate the ongoing builds from the questions/topics being asked
Just an idea

Mitch's Newbie Valveless jet thread
Hi everyone, I thought I post up a thread to show the development of a newbie valveless pulsejet, I will try and post up as many tests and ideas as I can and comment on how I got certain bits lol Here is my first test with a jamjar jet, I did have a larger on, but it has a plastic lid that melted! o...

Re: Really basic capped PJ
Amazingly this pulse just looks almost exactly like Ghrey's metal jam jar pulse jet lol just with a hole rather than a sleave over it lol would look awesome on a mantle peice lol
Should I try and make that as my 2nd pulsejet? (still actually need to build one lol)

Re: metal jam jar experiments
Not sure where to put this, but I just found a cool video regarding the jam-jar jet, it adds a diffuser using a plumbing part to make it much more powerful:

Re: Newbie valves - please be gentle!
I tried the electro etching technique many years ago, and it seemed to work well for very thin materials. Somewhat thicker sheet pitted at the etch , naturally I used a small battery charger, but according to Bruce Simpson on the site you referenced, you can use a single car or motorcycle battery a...

Re: Newbie valves - please be gentle!
Ah ok cool, I will have a look, it looks like the nearest one is somewhere in London lol Yeah I checked out the electro etching technique, but it looks a bit complex and as you say, it might not even work lol I will check if we have a dremel kind of thing somewhere in the garage. What size is yours?...

Re: Newbie valves - please be gentle!
Hello M1tch I'm from the UK too. I'm in a similar position - i've only got simple hand tools and no welding gear. My no weld pulsejet is almost finished - but i'm guessing its going to take alot of tweaking before it actually runs. I got 0.006" stainless shim steel and some mild steel tubing from m...

Re: Noob .. Alcohol fuel pump
I want to make a valveless pulse just that will run on Methanol .. I've done some searching and have not ended up with much material. I am a tool and die maker so making the engine is just a matter of doing it. What are you using for delivering liquid to the engine? Thanks .. K It seems that most p...
