Reinforcing high-temperature materials

I've seen various ideas bandied about on here for using ceramics or other refractory materials for a pulse-jet body, but the sticking issue was always structural strength. Other materials suggested for reinforcements seem either a bit pricey or hard to come by. Could fine tungsten wire be used like ...

Say you made the "bottom" of the combustion chamber double-walled to serve as a preheating chamber for the fuel with pinholes in the inner wall to let it into the chamber.

Oh, what if the fuel injector was controlled by the rotary valve? Then the timing of the explosion would have to match the valve's opening and closing because that's when the fuel would show up.

Internal circulation-directing structures.

I'm told that adding an internal cone to a reynst type pulsejet improves the mixing and efficiency.
Would adding some sort of internal guide structure help in other designs as well?
It's my understanding that a reynst operates similar to the Chinese only in annular form, but what about say, Lockwoods?

I'm reminded of that patent for a tip-ramjet helicopter rotor where the air intake was in the hub with hollow tubes leading to the jets at the tips. The centrifugal force was used to suck the air in and compress it before it got to the jets. Sounds good in theory. Is there any reason it wouldn't work?

You might get away with rotary or other externally actuated valves if it were a very large pulsejet since the bigger ones operate at much lower frequencies.

Indeed. The cylinder assembly wouldn't be nearly as heavy as that of a turbocharged piston engine though since the lack of moving pistons or a crankshaft means that not only will it be much smaller, it also doesn't need to cope with the mechanical stresses caused by having to keep all those parts on...

Yeah, a plenum chamber on this thing could also function as an intercooler for the compressed intake air.
The animation does use two combustion chambers and between cycles the intake air blows right through to the exhaust turbine both for scavenging and cooling.

Hmm, good points there. What about multiple combustion chambers so there is always at least one providing thrust and another taking in fresh air from the turbine?
How do normal turbochargers handle the intermittent intake and exhaust pressures? Is it just by the length or the tubing in the manifold?

I have high hopes for this. I remember from some of the literature on here that thermojets generally work best when built nice and big like you're doing.

I have since learned that what I proposed is called the Merideth Effect. WWII planes like the P-51 Mustang employed it by making use of the waste heat from the radiator to generate several hundred pounds of thrust from the exhaust duct.
