Re: Proposed: Linear FWE Rebuild
Unfortunately, the Sanitary Tubing U bend would be several hundred dollars (remember, this is 4-inch stainless tubing) and it would take a few hundred more to make the mounting hardware. So, don't look for this anytime soon ;-) It would, of course, be my first "bent" engine. Mr. Cottrill, if it int...

Acoustic Length Starting Point on Curved Surfaces
When using a curved surface to mount your tailpipe and/or intake to, where is the starting point (of the length) of your component?
** Is it at the longest (top) or the shortest (bottom) of where the component enters into the combustion chamber?
Note: Please refer to attached drawing as a reference.

Re: Idea for Adjustable Fuel Injector
That looks like a pretty cool idea. I might have to try it out on the big lockwood. Any ideas on how many holes you think to run a big lockwood? Keith I found a pdf file on the fuel rail for a large pulsejet, on this topic: Lockwood Help 16 holes (8 sets of 2; holes were drilled straight-thru) @ 0....

The inside diameter (If I'm not mistaken) of 5/16" Steel BrakeLine is 1/4" and the O.D. of 1/4" Steel BrakeLine is (of course) 1/4" . - If you were to sleeve the 1/4" BrakeLine, with 5/16" Brakeline... Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.
You're quite welcome... but please forgive the fact that I also should have mentioned that flaring the opening of your intake will help enormously. If you're not adding one as a separate piece, make sure the flare is even all the way around. I wish you Good Luck and hope to see you post, by later th...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.
I have made a lockwood hiller model valveless pulsejet engine.its my first attempt and initial starting made it work okay.but when i tested again the engine is starting with a blast and then after removing the compressed air from the inlet the engine is not sustaining its operation .Instead the gas...

Re: Pulsejet Build
Might consider the M25 by metiz: http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5877 No bends in that one, and a proven design  It is not adviseable to hard fold a Lockwood as they are some what based on the Marconnet, with a larger volume of the CC nearest the tail. I have tried to har...

Re: Pulsejet Build
Well, this thread has become stale. Since I am still waiting for any reply for an engine, I have since decided to move on to a different design. There are plenty of large lockwood designs out there. The reason for not going to one originally was that tricky U-bend. Unsure of how to get one I ruled ...

Re: can't ignite
As Mr. Everman stated; If you're not able to achieve a leak-free joint, it'll make the engine much more difficult to get running. Even if by some chance you do get it running, a small leak will severely limit it's throttle range. - Another downside is the fact that you're using galvanized pipe. I've...

Re: can't ignite
It (more than likely) won't, with the way you have it set-up now. The reason being, is that you have it configured "Shubert"-style. (With the intake and tailpipe "inline". The engine's flame-front will cycle straight back-and-forth, rather than circulate. I've found that kind of configuration extrem...

°- The length of your tailpipe should be 11 times the I.D. (Inside Diameter). °- The INSIDE of the end of the tailpipe should be filed, so that there is a smooth taper. °- Calculate the volume of the finished tailpipe. ( Pi x R² x length) °- Your combustion chamber's volume should EQUAL the tailpip...
