Now those are nozzles!
The booster tests looked amazing, some strange swirling at the end.
Agreed about the nozzles however I do see some high magnitude pulsed combustion going on inside the chamber, must be a mixing issue?.
None the less really amazing.

Re: ♑

Yikes, A comparison in which it is admitted: "Performance results will be shown and compared to data from a statically operated PDE run at stoichiometric conditions with similar length scales." Probably went through great labor to assure the PDE runs stoichiometric using a fair ratio of brisant fue...

Re: Just a thought

I was thing if you took a plate, Drilled holes in it with the same volume as the intake. I was thinking it would restrict the out flow, And if you made the right flair it would suck enough air in, I think if it did work it would work the best in the front of the intake. just wondering what some els...

Re: A big mouthed thrust augmenter ???

A better thrust augmenter can be made by having the tailpipe of the pulse jet stick out just a little bit into a large chamber. This chamber and its associated outlet being a Helmholtz resonator tuned to the same frequency as the pulse jet. :) hr.jpg The area of the mouth of this resonator being be...

Re: The Thrill of Flying the SR-71 Blackbird

Thanks Viv. Was a great read. One part that really made me chuckle was this  : Walter startled the controller by asking for a ground speed check from 81,000 feet, clearly above controlled airspace. In a cool, professional voice, the controller replied, ' Aspen 20, I show you at 1,982 knots on th...

Re: origonal ???

To any one injecting water or steam or thinking about doing so to get more thrust A lot of the 'exhaust' of the Saturn 5 rocket was hydrogen from deliberate incomplete burning of its fuel. The reason for that was that hydrogen can be accelerated to a higher speed. Rubbish Paul. That is poor engine ...

Re: New way of building a valveless pulse-jet: integrated intake

Ok I fixed the injector problem and tried again. I also tried a thrust reading but the sun was shining on the display so I can't see shit on the video. fantastic. Anyway, I've got a small vid of the engine running. It starts a lot easier, I had throttle controll and all but still no sustained run. ...
