Re: craft plane pulse jet
Well, I got it running The first time I had it going full blast the grub screw backed off and the intake plopped out. I can honestly say that the intake was a wee bit hot. Here is a second running...

Re: craft plane pulse jet
Thanks Mark, I worked on it last night and just about had it sustaining. I did have the camera fixed on it but wouldn't you know...the batteries crapped out. I did try butane at one point. It sucked that down at an enormous rate. More to come...

craft plane pulse jet
Ed Bash's video inspired me to get back on my valved micro mini. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfhgD9yTwEs It looks similar to the craft plane pulse jet plans listed here with about 155.9 grams of thrust. This thing just keeps going for over 3 minutes. I decided to put away the arduous task of deve...

Re: Rotary Valve Pulse-Jets
An electric motor controlled spinning valve at a target frequency---computer controlled advance and retard to quickly adjust for frequency change. Sensors needed--valve position sender, audio pick up to listen in on all aspects of audible frequencies. I think the controller could tune it's self by l...

Re: Rotary Valve Pulse-Jets
Just a quicky suggestion. Putting Rocket Man's and your ideas together one could design a ratcheting annular rotational valve. A stutter valve if you will. Imagine many radial port slits instead of circular or triangularly holes...

Re: Thrust readings for the old Micro Mini Pulse Jet
Those tiny engines are awesome! you should make keychains from them. Great conversation starter:"wahts that?" a jet engine "no way!" btw, what kind of a scale are you using? "No way dude!! A jet!" LOL! It's a Sartorius. It was an older scale a friend let me use. He had a better newer one but he hea...

Thrust readings for the old Micro Mini Pulse Jet
I had guessed .500 to 1 oz. I finally got around to borrowing a weight scale from an automotive painter friend and rigging my PJ to it. As you can see this particular run I had sealing issues. This caused the readings to go down. A good solid max reading was (.353oz)10.1g and the lowest was (.303oz)...

Re: Life imitates pulse jets
HONK! HONK! Just found this confused fellow. It seems to view its self as some kind of horn. I mean really. All this time its gone around with a rubber bulb on its end when it was meant to have a combustion tube. Kids these days
