Re: see running new type of pressure jet - methanol fuel
hints:
the unsteady combustion comes from the lack of pump pressure, formerly a bigger pump was applied, but I haven't already as powerful pump.
note : methanol vapor saturation pressure at 250 degC is about 100 bar !! And my little toy-pump in this video achieves just 8 - 12 bar.

Re: see running new type of pressure jet - methanol fuel
here is the video again, the old link of which no longer worked is obsolete. The typical non-glowing flame of the methanol fuel is unfortunately hardly visible due to the glaring sunlight. At the end you can see them briefly. You can see other effects quite well, such as the rocking fuel tube, which...

great work, Kevin !!
I love it ! We will put our knowledge together to improve this beast.

Re: see running new type of pressure jet - methanol fuel
Dear kenshin, sorry, I didnt recognise your interesting posts, thank you very much! to your questions: yes , large diameter and combustion chamber length for stable combustion, and no, we had never trouble with combustion in diffuser, because the methanol vapor jet has enough momentum to supress com...

Comsol Multiphysics: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
hi all, here are two examples of my linear-acoustics Simulations (CFD for poor) elaborated with Comsol Multiphysics 4.3 : ... afwe-eigenfrequency-helmholtz4-harmonic-pipe-end_corrected-1 : acoustic eigenmodes of a so-called "harmonic-design" (I will report on this theory in the next weeks / months) ...

Re: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
Dear Ganesh,
first I wish a happy New Year to all forum users!
Hopefully I will have a little more time next days to seek for my old simulation results images and animations done by Comsol Multiphysics
so long !

Re: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
Dear Ganesh, nice work here! Some time ago I did some CFD on valveless pulsejets using Comsol Multiphysics. There I used compressible NS formulation and an additional heat-source term as pseudo-combustion. Later I will send some images of that. Your attempt to create a free / opensource code for oct...

Re: Some noob ideas for initiator
nice ideas. please have a look on my posts in thread "predator". This works vaveless without shockwave primers by just initiating high turbulences by the propane injector. But with very low pulse-frequencies. Initiating electrical shocks by capacitor banks are anyway interesting alternatives. Can yo...

Re: PREDATOR - valveless PDE build blog
Hi Growlzler,
aah, as I understand, you propose to bias a direct current just below the trigger point of the coil? Is that right? This seems to be a very good idea...
thanks, I will try...if I got it right? Other ideas?

Re: Short Lady Build Log
Hi, great to hear from new members! I try to give some answers : 1) Would small welding beads inside the CC hinder the performance? no 2) I tried to make the transition from the cone to the tail pipe as smooth as possible but i did end up with a few welding beads there. They are a bit hard to reach ...
