Re: 0.61 SFC Pulseramjet from GLC

And as to unaugmented, Mitchell, it is the most highly augmented motor going. How else can you look at a supersonic rocket of fuel to entrain air. And it IS a valveless pulse jet! no offense there mike, but I think maybe that was the spiked-eggnog talking when you wrote this - Heh, heh (kidding!!!)...

0.61 SFC...Forget about Valveless Pulse-jets!!

Guys,
Don't waste your time anymore with valveless pulsejets, look at what Luc's done over on the pressure jet forum (see Pulseramjet thread), a 0.61 specific fuel consumption!! And un-augmented, too!

Pressure jets are obviously the way to go for low-cost, light-weight aircraft propulsion!!

Pulseramjet SFC

62.4 lbs per hour fuel consumption (1.04lb/min X 60min/hr) producing an average thrust of 102 lbs yields a thrust-specific fuel consumption of 0.61 lb Fuel per lb thrust per hour. THAT IS ASTOUNDING!! This beats even the very best fully augmented valveless pulsejets, and many early gas turbines. Is ...

Re: re: Pulseramjet

Hi again, 10 to 1 is now a secured thrut to weight ratio. At one point we had readings showing 209 lbs. of thrust from a 9 pounds engine, but this reading still needs to be secured steady from one engine to another. Our last one is 337 lbs. of thrust from a 36 pounds engine (9.36 to 1 ratio). But w...

Valveless Question for the Experts about combustion chamber

What is the between relationship combustion chamber volume and BTu's fuel (propane) consumed for a typical high performance valveless pulsejet? Can one of the experts (or anybody) here provide a graph or an equation? Also, does this ratio depend upon engine size, or is it a constant? Thanks much in ...
