" thinking computer"
It should be fun too se what the results whould look like if all the knowledge about pulsejets where programed in to one of the "thinking" computers that allows things to evolve.. With calculations of flow, thrust and so on.. I have seen antennas designed by one of the computers.. it loked really st...

Re: re: Uflow usable for pulsejets?
The "problem" with UFLOW1D is the 1D part - the analysis is one-dimensional ... I disagree, here. Aerovalved pulse jets have been modelled using 1D compressible flow theory. Comparison with the models' predictions with experiment is good. The problem with UFlow1D, is, it wasn't written for pulsejet...

Re: re: Valveless pulsejet to Stiga sledge
I have one of those sleds and you are ABSOLUTELY CRAZY if you want to put 40 kg thrust on one! Unless you are on a perfectly manacured ski slope you are just going to end up dead, or with every bone in your body broke wishing you were. On a 45 degree slope you will have no problem breaking 100 mph,...

Re: re: titanium valve head
Sure If you have the tools to machine such a material. You will need flood coolant with any machine operation, carbide C-2 or M42 HSS (preferably coated with TiN, TiCN, TiAlN). Keep the feed rates slow to reduce heat buildup. Thats not an problen, i have acess to a late and a milling machine.. No a...

Re: Raiding the "old stuff"
No offence to any perverbial "Dinosaurs" on the forum, but perhaps you can help with this. Shown below are 2 what I believe to be Propane torches. According to my father, before grandad died (bless his soul) and left me some cool tools, he used these torches for a bunch of different things, problem...
