Re: More in the saga of Thermo-Jam ( and other musings )
Hi Ghrey,
Do you test at random? Just wondered why you always use what seems like an over-small diameter tailpipe
Logic would say that this will behave like a breather tube rather than a resonating tail section, is that deliberate?
Anyway thanks! I do find this thread interesting/entertaining...

Re: Turbo jet plans
Thread title says plans, Just wondering what planning has been done? Would be interested in what calculations you have done? Don't forget that with an axial Compressor stage, the pressure rise is created by diffusion, which is something that needs calculating for any chance of working. Basically it ...

Kirk, Felt I needed to warn you that it's a rediculously high price! I have the hard back version, the original price in the states in 1961 was $15. I got mine about 8 years ago from a bookseller, Can't remember exactly, think it was about 20 GBP so it's value hasn't increased dramatically. Very int...

Re: Interested ?
You know! Foolish me thought I would offer at least a helping hand and expect some civility in return, but reality strikes back with the usual itemised list of negative statements. it is this very reason why I only post on this forum very rarely now... Moderators, Please ban this guys ip! On all oth...

Re: Interested ?
Just been reading through this! Apart from the total inexcusably bad behaviour of some thread paticipants, there is a lot of variables that seem to have been ignored. No tests along these lines could be considered acceptable as even mildly "scientific comparison". Different climates, air and wind co...

Hi Bruno, Well, apparently those contra rotating types were built at some time and they gave good compression ratio, Probably faded into obscurity due to their over complex nature! Here is another weird design for you and Viv to drool over! http://www.geocities.com/gearturbine He mentions on one pag...

Must admit, have never heard anyone mention him!
There is a small reference to him here:
http://www.wolfhound.org.uk/
Seems he was a gas-turbine engineer at Armstrong Siddeley, last heard of in Montreal!

The shame of British bureaucracy at its worse
What is our world coming too?? Click the link below and please also pass the message on. Subject: Red Arrows The world-famous Red Arrows have been banned from appearing at the 2012 London Olympics because they are deemed 'too British'. Organisers of the event say that the Arrows military background ...

Ah, the throat is at 25% so its a crooked linear (my colourful description). CG: No intentional direction on this. More a case of playing, and seeing where it leads. Hope to end up with a nice cross section of medium to small VPJ types. Of course, a Pressure gain Burner would be very nice and a (qui...
