Re: jet flight

It's been 8 years since I last came to this forum. I am still interested in the planes and make ready to fly models for control line speed for people. Since 2010 have made over 100 kitsets and ready to fly fast/sport pulsejet models for all around the world. It's amazing how one's little interests c...

Re: White gas for the HK Pulse jet

It is a shame that hobby King stopped selling these engines as they were actually pretty good in the end. Some people were getting good flights in the control line fraternity. I designed my t34 model for them and sold 50 kitsets around the world. Still make them when required but the shipping cost i...

Re: Hobby king Pulse-jet (modifcations)

One can increase the lift of the valves by recutting the valve retainer possibly a maximum of 1 mm also the venturi can be opened up maybe 1mm both these will allow more air and fuel in. The other option is to play with the fuel you are using. Be earned though the hobby King jet was made with a low ...

Re: Removing a Dyna-Jet valve head

Sometimes some gentle heat from a heat gun to the tube will work and also using rubber sheets cut from an old car tire inner tube works well as you can get a good grip on the head and tube without ripping one's hands to pieces. Regards Robert

Re: 95 octane vs 98 octane grade gasoline

Use the lowest octane fuel you can buy. THis will give you more power and easier starts. We have a thing called white spirits which is sold in the hardware shop which is a form of very low octane petrol. Personally I stay away from any fuel with petrol as it is to difficult on starts and power. All ...

Re: White gas for the HK Pulse jet

Yes it would be absolutely fine to run this fuel. And the metering jets supplied are setup for this fuel.

Re: New to the Pulse Jet forum- HK Red Head fuel consumption

I have been running 80%methanol and 20% nitro in mine for control line flying and a 200ml tank lasts 25-30 seconds on petrol you would half the tank size to get the same flight time so 100ml for 25-30 sec run time.

Hope this helps

Re: Best Air Temperature for Speed Records

Flying very low on a hot day to get the extra heat from the tarmac makes a little jump in speed. The Warmer the air the less work the engine has to do to warm it!!!! Colder or wet days are usually slower.... Metering jets in 1 thou steps make a difference even if you can get the 1/2 thou sizes makes...

Re: jet flight

Hi Jerry I would love to come back to Muncie one day. Last time I was there I managed to win the fastjet title in 2010 being the only non American to do so.. It's going to be all down to finance if I ever make it back.. But if you didn't know Andrew Robinson managed to break his fastjet record here ...
