Re: Minijet J-3 instruction manual / blueprints

I'm trying to find out more about the valves and how much they are suppose to be curved if at all. I've had them so the tip is about 1mm off the seat but it's not running well. I've got the latter one with the spinner.

Minijet J-3 instruction manual / blueprints

I'm wondering if anyone has any instruction manuals, blueprints or info on the Minijet J-3 other than the two pages (page 9 and 13 from some book) mark posted back in '05. There doesn't seem to be much info floating around on this engine except the very basics. Thanks

Re: Minijet pulse jets

Thanks for the info, I thought the valves might need a bit of bend. after I fliped them over they would not open the way they should. Ross

Re: Minijet pulse jets

I tried to flip the valves around but the bow from the heat damage is to much and they leak. I'll etch some new ones, it's a simple shape.

Re: Minijet pulse jets

If you look at the lower left corner of the pyramid closest to the air outlet there is a small bleader hole. There is no valve, so I'll have to find out if it will presurize the fuel tank when my new valves are done. Ross

Re: Minijet pulse jets

The steamline thing on the side of the Minijet is the inlet for the fuel and a compressed air outlet to presurize the fuel tank. I would not even know which one was which if it were not for Mark who posted the following pages on another thread (Got any more you could give up Mark?) Thanks Ross

Re: Minijet pulse jets

I finaly got my mini jet from the UPS guy today and took it apart to get a look at the valves. There are 4 individual triangle shaped valves shaped like a pyramid facing the combustion chamber with two small screws holding each one in. they look easy to make, but I don't know how far open they should...

ram jet water heater

I just came back from living in South Africa for 3 years, and while living in a place in the transkai I came across an unusual water heater. It was a stainless pipe in the shape of a giant dynajet pulse jet pipe about four feet long that was water jacketed. You took a tin coffee mug with a piece of ...

Re: Stainless steel lockwood

I was checking out your posts and was wondering how long is the most you might go with the flair on this thing? and how wide would the megaphone go to? I was also wondering if I could make the 180 bend a little tighter without effecting the running of the unit. There was a small crack that I found i...

Minijet pulse jets

I just got hold of a pulse jet made by Minijet Motors in Pasadina CA. All I know about the history of the thing is that it was made in the late 40's. I did find a post with two pages of the instructions (page 9 and 13). If anyone has any info on the history of it, blueprints, or manuals, it whould b...
