Enthusiasm is a fragile commodity and easily crushed.
It's such a shame that this forum is effectively dead now, especially as it was allowed to happen.

Re: Senior Project FWEVIII Rev 8
Hi, I’ve attached some photos of the fuel pipes I used; they were about 1/8” OD. I just flattened the ends completely, ground the corners at an angle and drilled four 1mm holes in the end. The position of the sparkplug makes getting the initial ignition tricky, as you noted, but assuming you can liv...

Re: Combustion window
It's hard to see what really going on in there sadly, but hopefully it will inspire someone to do better. I might try again but using smoke to help visualise the intake flow, I'll see if I can come up with a way of producing thick white smoke, or maybe water injected into the intake would be visible...

Re: Combustion window
And this is a link to download the full video, if anyone wants it. The gasket consumes itself and leaks gradually more and more as the video goes on, so bear that in mind... http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?m2on5t2znyq Its a 43mb .mov file and you might need a fairly recent version of apples (f...

Re: Combustion window
This is the Lab watch glass used, I wasn't expecting it to last more than a few seconds but it was the leather gasket that gave up first.

Combustion window
A little while ago I modified an FWE by removing the end plate from the combustion chamber and bolting on a glass window. I recorded a run using a Casio Exilim EX-F1 at a frame rate of 1200 per second, this only gives between 4 and 5 frames per cycle! which isn't enough for smooth playback unfortuna...

Re: See through jet
I've got a Casio EX-F1, it's pretty good. It has limitations of course, especially regarding resolution but there aren't many 1200 fps cameras that are so small and easy to use. http://www.exilim.co.uk/exf1/ I recorded some high speed video of an FWE with a glass end plate on the combustion chamber ...

Re: Lady Anne variation.
I've converted this video file to wmv, it has lost a bit of quality in the process.

Lady Anne
Good work Larry & Ed, I'm really looking forward to seeing these run, and I'm sure they will run, the last Lady Anne I put together had a single 26mm intake so it will be good to see how the performance compares. I only ran mine briefly but I did get an idea of thrust and it'll be interesting to see...

Chunky Lady.
Good work Vern, that thing sounds nasty, I felt sure you'd have to add some length to the intakes but it seems to work great.
I can't get over how fat that thing is;) if it makes good thrust it could become a popular build.
