re: supercharged ramjet

hmmmmm I never did think of that. What is causing the pressue? the PJ exaust? why not use HPA to caus an increase in pressure?

Could a Ramjet use N2O?

Ive been wondering, ould a ramjet use Nitrisoxides? For a power boost? I plan on making a ramjet powered go kart and i though about using N2O for power bosts. I was thinking about using a N2O veturi in the flameholder. THen when i need aboost flip the switch and use nitro. But would it work?

re: Proposed Tire Rim Engine

Ok now what if this is spinning? the centrifical force might pich your fuel lines closed and work outthe spark plug. If its spinnig it could fly off as a top and do some real nasty things to you or anybody. But heres an idea: dinces its an old tire rim why not streagthin it so it can take bening spu...

Is this an effcient RamJet design?

Ive been building a series of ramjets with little succes. would these numbers make a somewhate effieceient ram jet engine? thrust- 35-40 lbs diffuser entrence area- 5.256 in nozzle exit area-4.396 in cobustion chamber length-9.652 in total length-19.304 in. nozzle exit cone angle 8.56 degrees entren...

re: Compressed air/Ramjet = Cramjet

Tony
you could try it with compressed air before launch. But then you would need a recovery system and a way to get a stable air intake and fuel pressure. What type of fuel do you plan on using?

re: Backwards blown Ramjet

I dont understand. What is carbid precipitation? We weleded it with a TIG welder. There were a few holes in the rear of the flameholder, but those were the hole that I had drilled in an attempt to get a better cooling rate on the flameholder.

Re: Backwards blown Ramjet

Yeah but wouldnt the flameholder wouldve bolwn forward? If if blew backwards then the ignitor was to far forward. But that isnt the case. When ever i design my flameholders the ignitor is 90% of the time close to the back. I have discoverd that by doing this in corf=dinnation with the case desing I h...

Fuel delivery and flameout problems

My junkyard jet is really screwin up. I just put a new pump, plugs, seals(tank) and a new fuel line set for the engine. But I keep getting a fuel delievery problem. I did find a way to hook it up to my laptop in order to control the pump. This is the other one of mine with an after burner. Any ideas?

Junkyaed jet w/ after burners/eaust brakes

I was just messing around with my junkyard jet, and I got a neat idea, why not add an after bunner in my exaust cone with a spark pulgand a nozzle. I got the inspiration from seeing the exaust brakes on a jet that I saw at a Blue Angels airshow a few years ago. The afterburner appears to give a very...

Re: Backwards blown Ramjet

I was using 2 leafblowers. They were set in a parell way. One behind the other. The flameholder was just thrown out of the back. The shell and stand survived. In my theory, the flameholder was ejected due to to much air/rapid combustion and to lean of a flame that melted the welds. My friend is a pr...

Re: Backwards blown Ramjet

I dont agree. I could see down the front of the engine. The flameholder WAS not in the flame.

Re: Backwards blown Ramjet

Yes there was a shower of sparks coming form the tail of the engine. I have always tinkerd around with engines. Jet( an old f4 fpantom compressor) and piston. So what yor saing is that I mess up the Flame holder placment and I used the wrong type of metal? What type of metals should I use? I did not...
