It must seem odd to you that I've never discovered that, but there IS an explanation: Normally, exact scale is not an issue, so I just draw what I think looks and feels "right". So, pixels are fine.
I'm quite sure that this is the first time EVER that I've tried to produce a scale drawing with Paint.
So, we live and learn.
