Re:Test .wav files |
Pablo,
I am glad to see you are doing some analysis, too.

recorded it with the tape recorder, then back to the pc using the webcam's mic. just like I did with the jet's sound
result: the new sound is 530 hz instead of 512,
Ok, with your tape/webcam mic/sound card system you are reading high by +3.51%, which is really not bad. How about the results of the other 4 test frequencies?

>and recording the sound using the webacm direclty, resulted in a 520 hz freq.
So, the webcam mic/sound card system is reading slightly above by 1.54%, which is really good.
Again, how about the results of the other 4 test frequencies?
---------
So, it appears that the tape recorder is adding an additional +2.0% error at this frequency. We need to know more about what happens at the other frequencies.
NOTE:
I am measuring from 433-454 Hz for F2 (circa 512 Hz) in the audio stripped from your video, which means a large amount of error (some 11.3-15.4%) is introduced by your video camera/vcr/tv speaker system. You can see where this is unsatisfactory for experimental work unless you can reduce it.
We're making progress,
